TRAVEL

We thank you all for making the trip to be with us on our special day.

If you have any questions, please get in touch at chengkelt2026@gmail.com.

VISA

Most international visitors will require a tourist visa to enter mainland China. While some nationalities may qualify for short-stay visa-free transit, these policies are subject to change and can vary by entry point and timing.

We strongly recommend that all guests obtain a tourist visa regardless, to ensure a smooth and stress-free arrival. Entry regulations can change without notice, and having a valid visa is the most reliable way to avoid complications.

For the most accurate and up-to-date information, please consult the official Chinese government visa portal and your local Chinese embassy or consulate:

• China Online Visa Application Portal (official)

• Chinese Embassy in the U.S. – Visa Information

We recommend reviewing requirements and applying well in advance, as processing times and documentation needs may vary.

FLIGHTS

Beijing has two international airports:

Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK)
and

Beijing Daxing International Airport (PKX).

We strongly recommend flying into PEK, as it is significantly more convenient to the hotel and all wedding venues. Due to distance and traffic, arriving at PKX may add considerable travel time and complications.

There are intermittent direct flights on Air China into PEK, and we also recommend routing through Hong Kong, Seoul, or Tokyo for the most seamless connections.

AIRPORT TRANSFERS

Rosewood Hotel offers an airport transfers service at an additional costs, available for both arrival and departure. You may reach out to the following email to make arrangements: beijing.concierge@rosewoodhotels.com.

For guests who are staying at Beijing Grand Millennium Hotel, you may reach out to the following email to request car service at an additional cost: reservations@grandmillenniumbeijing.com.

RIDE HAILING

Didi is the primary ride-hailing app used throughout China. We strongly recommend downloading the app and setting it up before arriving in Beijing, as it will be the most reliable way to get around independently.

TRAFFIC

Beijing is known for heavy and unpredictable traffic, particularly during rush hours (7:00–10:00 AM and 4:00–8:00 PM). Travel times can vary significantly even over short distances.

When heading to the airport or any wedding-related events, please allow at least 30–60 extra minutes beyond your estimated travel time. When in doubt, leave earlier.

SAFETY & HEALTH PRECAUTIONS

As with any major city, please be mindful of your belongings and avoid leaving valuables unattended.
Do not drink tap water - please stick to bottled water at all times.

When it comes to street food, use your best judgment. While Beijing has incredible options, we ask that you save your more adventurous eating for after the wedding.

Bring any essential medications with you, along with copies of prescriptions, as international brands and English labeling may not be readily available.

CURRENCY & PAYMENTS

The local currency is the Renminbi (RMB), with the basic unit of the Yuan (¥). China is largely cashless, and many places do not accept foreign credit cards.

WeChat Pay and Alipay are the most widely used payment methods. We strongly recommend setting up at least one mobile payment app before arriving, with Alipay being the most accessible option for international visitors.

Alipay supports Visa, Mastercard, Diners Club International, and Discover, and can be used for taxis, restaurants and cafés, shops, and souvenirs throughout Beijing.

VPN ACCESS

Many international apps and websites (including Google, Gmail, Instagram, and WhatsApp) are restricted in China when using a local Chinese SIM card or Wi-Fi network. If you plan to rely on these services, we strongly recommend downloading and setting up a VPN before arriving.

Guests using international roaming data (U.S., U.K., etc.) may still have access to these apps without a VPN; however, coverage can be inconsistent and expensive, so having a VPN set up in advance is still advised.

Recommended options:

Astrill, Shadowrocket, ExpressVPN

IDENTIFICATION

Please carry your passport with you, or keep a clear photo copy on your phone as it is often required for entry to major historical sites, as well as for hotel check-ins and security checks.

TIPPING

Tipping is not customary in China and is generally not expected in restaurants, taxis, or hotels.

In some cases, it may even be politely refused. Service charges are typically included where applicable.
